📄 An easier way to do data analytics (that you may have never tried)

October 29, 20252 min read

Job hunting right now feels like throwing darts in the dark. You scroll through hundreds of listings. Half of them don't match your skills. The other half want 10 years of experience for an entry-level role. Bummer. It's exhausting.

You gotta be wondering: is there a better way to do this? Yes, there is. At least a different way you should test out.

Why not use AI to find jobs? So I built you a little tool to try out.

I actually built this using a data analytics platform called KNIME. Took me just a couple hours.

Cost? Free. Forever. Test it out!

What’s the catch? None. I just want to help out. Plus, KNIME is paying for hosting. Thanks KNIME!

Let me show you how it works and how I built it (and how you could build something similar).

What This Tool Actually Does

It reads your resume. Then it searches job boards and uses AI to match you with roles that actually fit. It shows you salary ranges, locations on a map, and gives you direct links to apply.

You can watch how it works here.

How Did I Build This App (Without Writing Code)?

You might be thinking: "Avery, that sounds complicated. I could never build something like that - I don't really know how to code."

Good news. There’s ways to build stuff like this without code. In fact, they are called no-code or low-code platforms. These aren’t like “vibe-coding” platforms - they’re not built off of AI (although some do have AI features). They’re drag-and-drop type platforms with data building blocks. Think of it like data analytics Lego’s.

I used KNIME for this one because they asked me to show off how awesome it is. It makes it easy to build, but also to share my analysis with others (usually very hard).

You can see how I built it by watching the full video. And if you want to download this tool and edit it, click here.

Why You Should Care About This

I think KNIME, and other low/no-code data platforms are becoming more popular. It’s important to know what they are and how you’d use them. Hopefully this helped with that.

Also, I think it’s important to think about different ways to find jobs to apply to. Often, we get stuck in the “this is how I apply to jobs” pattern. It’s important to try something new - a new site, a new resume, a new approach. So give this one a shot.
