📈 This Teacher Became a Data Analyst AFTER a 25-Year Career (Cynthia Clifford)

April 09, 20251 min read

You ever feel like you're "too late" to change careers? ✋

Well here's the truth, you're not too late.

Life's too short to do something you hate.

And if you aren't happy in your current career, you owe it to yourself to do something about it.

Even if it's hard.

Because you still have a lot of career left in front of you.

Here's a breakdown of how many working hours you have ahead of you by current age:

25 years old: 83,200 hours left

35 years old: 62,400 hours left

45 years old: 41,600 hours left

55 years old: 20,800 hours left

I don't know about you, but I don't want to be miserable at work for even 2,000 hours.

So you gotta do something about it.

That's what my friend, Cynthia Clifford, did, even AFTER spending 25 years in education.

Cynthia was an international school teacher & got burnt out.

She discovered data analytics & fell in love. She was a logical thinker and enjoyed solving problems.

But she knew she needed some extra help.

So she joined The Accelerator.

A few months later, she had mastered Excel, SQL, and Tableau, built a beautiful project portfolio, and had a strong network.

And she landed a role as a Sales Analyst at Impossible Foods.

Yes, the company that makes the Impossible Burger 🍔

If she did it, you can too.

Cynthia came on my podcast this week and shared her ENTIRE journey...

From being stuck in her house in Vietnam to landing her first role to losing that due to "return to office" demands (Cynthia worked remotely in Vermont) to landing her next data role.
