Sundas was applying for data jobs but getting rejection after rejection. Sound familiar? One day, she reluctantly attended a networking event. Suddenly, she somehow serendipitously landed a data analyst role with Amazon. From there, she learned data engineering on the job and eventually data science. Now? She’s a Principal Analytics Lead at Google on their Search Ads team. The rest is history.

Too often, we think networking isn’t for us because it’s pointless and we hate it. Networking does suck, especially for us introverts. But it’s worth it in the end. And there’s ways to do it more naturally, and easier.

Too often, we think we have to learn everything before we land a job. In reality, it’s about learning the fundamentals to get your foot in the door. You can learn the more advanced stuff on the job.
